Kettering Centers for Public Life Network

The CU Dialogues officially became a Center for Public Life in 2017. CU Dialogues Program Director Karen Ramirez and Boulder Talks Associate Director Jeff Motter were part of the 2016-17 Centers for Public Life Cohort. Joining twelve other teams from across the country, Motter and Ramirez traveled to the Kettering Foundation in Dayton, Ohio on four separate occasions. While at Kettering, they learned how to design community conversations about local issues, facilitate community discussions where multiple viewpoints are present, and report those findings to decision makers in the community. As a Kettering Center for Public Life, we seek to be a resource for the campus and Boulder County to advance democratic practices of local decision-making and reciprocity to help build better communities.
