Juan was drawn to the Crown Institute's focus on mindfulness, compassion, and belonging, as well as its collaborative research-practice model that values all partners equally. He brings over 15 years of experience in marketing and communications, with a strong focus on developing innovative content strategies that authentically capture a brand’s essence. This is further complemented by a proven track record in enhancing media visibility and creating impactful campaigns that resonate with diverse audiences.

Most recently, he worked on content strategy for the University of Denver's central marketing and communications division. Before that, he served as Head of Content for BakerRipley, a Houston-based nonprofit rooted in the belief of belonging. At Wood Mackenzie, he played a key role in enriching the company’s online presence and was part of its inaugural social media team. Earlier in his career, at Burson-Marsteller (now BCW), he developed impactful communications campaigns for global brands across diverse industries.

Juan began his professional journey as a city reporter for El Día, a Spanish-language daily in Houston,Texas. Originally from Bogotá, Colombia, his perspective is shaped by living in Venezuela, Ecuador, Brazil, England, and beyond. He holds a BA in Communications with a focus on PR and journalism from Clarke University.
