Powering the Mixer

Begin by removing the audio board from the case and finding the power jack on the rear of the board. Plug the power cable into the board to power on the system.

Attaching the Stick Microphone

Begin by taking the XLR cable out and attaching the male end of the cable to the input at the top of channel one. The other side of the cable can be inserted into the end of the microphone.

The microphone can then be placed in the stand ready for use.

Verify the power is on, and audio is being received by the audio board.

Attaching Studio Headphones

Monitoring audio coming into the board is done with the studio headphones. Monitoring is essential to keeping stable audio levels during production.

To attach the Studio headphones, an 1/4“ TRS to 1/8“ TRS adapter will be needed.

Once the adapter is assembled it can be inserted into the plug on the top labeled “phones”

The  volume control for the monitor headphones is in the bottom right hand corner of the board and will work independently of the main out volume. NOTE the “2-TR to Mix” button must be selected.

Attaching Headset microphone combo

When adding in a secondary or tertiary person on the podcast the kit will utilize the headset microphone combo. This allows for the guest minimal interaction with the components.

The Headphones and microphone will connect to the board through the TRS connections. For this the 1/4” TRS to 1/8” TRS adapter, and the “phantom power adapter” will be required. The phantom power adapter will require two “AAA” batteries each, and are not provided in the kit.

On the headphones there will be two 1/8“ TRS plugs, labeled “mic” and “phone” respectively. The “mic” jack will be plugged into the phantom power adapter, the 1/8” TRS adapter, and inserted into the “Control Room” return in either the left or right channel. The plug labeled “phone” will be plugged into the 1/8” TRS adapter, and then into the phone plug. NOTE the power adapter takes two “AAA” batteries, which and not provided.

For adding in the Tertiary member, the same steps will be followed, but using the 5/6 input and the other side of the “Control Room”

Attaching the USB Out

The usb out of the system will be done with the XLR to USB adapter. This adapter is plugged into the XLR input, and you can plug in any USB microphone into the USB adapter.

Setting the usb to be recognized by the software will not be covered in this manual. A program like Audacity, Audition, or another recording software will be needed.
