road in the desert

When I started working as a KEEN intern, I had no idea how quickly Verde would start giving me hands on experience. I worked on KEEN's Live Monumental campaign drafting media lists, sending out pitches, calling radio stations and whatever else was needed of me. This campaign was a great way to gain experience in Public Relations as I was put in high pressure situations that shaped the way I handle my current accounts. After being an intern at Verde for just a month I had already landed a broadcast radio hit.

My internship with National Park Trips Media was an incredible opportunity that provided me with a wide range of opportunities and experiences that enhanced my skills. Everyone that I worked with was always helpful and encouraging. I would recommend to anyone looking for a positive work atmosphere!

tv production station

Aurora TV sent me out on shoots and interviews, alone and with co-workers, while using a variety of cameras and equipment. Anytime I needed help, critique or simply encouragement, the staff never made me feel anything less than a fundamental part of their team. I learned something new every day and walked into my final year with a huge leg-up in the industry. I learned about script-writing, voice overs and about Adobe Premiere editing. I had on-camera opportunities and worked in the control room for the weekly news cast. I could not have had a better internship experience or preparation for my career, as I gained skills in more platforms than ever expected.

Flytedesk’s internship program was thorough and immersive, with weekly goal-setting meetings, interesting guest speakers and personalized projects that emphasized my individual strengths and interests! The company is relatively small, which allowed me to work directly with everyone and learn not only about my areas, advertising and design, but I was also introduced to startup culture and entrepreneurship, business development and college student newspapers. At the end of the summer, I was asked to stay on part-time during the school year. I’m really excited to be a part of this company as it continues to grow and succeed!

Alex Zieve

The internship that I pursued as part of my APRD degree ended up being the most valuable part of my college career. I interned with the company Hunter Douglas and upon concluding my internship I was able to continue working for them as a freelancer. This led to a variety of professional relationships that allowed me to create a job for myself after graduation. I have since used my hands-on experience from internship to freelance to start a career I truly love.
