Beth Langer

Since first entering the field of Speech-Language Pathology in 1992, Beth's clinical, research, and teaching work has mainly centered around assessment and intervention for children who are D/deaf or hard of hearing. Her work with this population has included serving as a speech-language pathologist in a school setting, supervising graduate student clinicians working in the Infant Hearing Center at the Northwestern University Speech and Language Clinic, and assessing and analyzing the speech and language of children who are deaf or hard of hearing for numerous research studies. Along with working at ODDACE, Beth teaches at the University of Colorado - Boulder in the department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences.

Beth was working as an assistant editor on a magazine in Tennessee when a co-worker, a Deaf man, sparked her interest in learning American Sign Language and changed the course of her career. She worked to become the kind of speech-language pathologist he wished he had had.
