Dr. Jess Doty

Dr. Jessica Doty is a collaborative and values-driven leader in higher education, with a proven track record of advancing student well-being, institutional effectiveness, and inclusive program development. As Associate Vice Chancellor for Health and Wellness Services at the University of Colorado, she leads a division of over 250 professionals across multiple departments, overseeing strategic initiatives that enhance student success, equity in healthcare access, and organizational transformation.

Dr. Doty has been instrumental in shaping campus-wide health and wellness strategies, spearheading initiatives such as the Health and Wellness Maturity Model, expanded access to mental health services, and innovative employee well-being programs. She has successfully guided the division through significant transitions, including the realignment of Health and Wellness Services and the expansion of compliance and risk management structures. Under her leadership, CU Boulder has earned national recognition, including the Healthy Minds Campus designation and Healthy Workplace recognition by the Colorado School of Public Health.

A strategic thinker and change agent, Dr. Doty has extensive experience in fiscal management, overseeing a $40 million budget while identifying new revenue streams and increasing self-funded reserves. She has played a critical role in public health response efforts, leading campus-wide initiatives during key health crises and advocating for data-driven policies that prioritize student and employee well-being. A champion for holistic wellness, she continues to drive meaningful change through cross-campus collaboration, policy development, and innovative health and wellness programming.
