Standing Rock Water Protectors School

"Let us put our minds together and see what life we can make for our children."—Sitting Bull

In coordination with the Standing Rock Water Protectors School, CDE (formerly BoulderTalks) executive committee members Prof. Pezzullo and Prof. Naputi created an online toolkit to help parents, educators, and advocates talk with children about the Dakota Access Pipeline controversy, in order to make Thanksgiving relevant to contemporary events and honor the best of the holiday.

By clicking these links, you can download three files: Standing Rock Thanksgiving talking points, Standing Rock school fundraising and resources, and a local Boulder resource list of indigenous and environmental groups working in solidarity with Standing Rock. CDE hopes more parents and educators will expand the resources, which are meant as a springboard for education and activities with youth to foster dialogue about Standing Rock and the meaning of Thanksgiving.
