Research Interests: Identification of molecular substrates in specific neural circuits that contribute to increased propensity for drug relapse; determining the contribution of altered affective states (i.e., depression, anxiety, reward) during drug withdrawal on relapse. 

Professor Bachtell is also a member of the Behavioral Genetics Program Area.
