Brian Groves, executive director of auxiliary services, announced Jessica Carlsen as the new director of the CU Book Store (CUBS), effective March 1. As the director, she will provide leadership and oversight for all areas within the department and will develop and enhance collaborative relationships, both on-campus and with external partners.

Carlsen has years of experience in organizational leadership and retail management. She began her career at CUBS in 2012 as merchandising and sales floor manager and most recently served as the associate director of retail services. Prior to working at CU Boulder, she spent more than a decade with Williams-Sonoma as a general manager, new store opening specialist, HR program trainer, and risk management trainer.

“Jess has helped the CU Book Store navigate numerous changes and challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic while continuing to focus on the needs of its customer and employees,” said Groves. “I am excited for the work she will do leading the CUBS team.”
