John Barrall joined the Donor Relations team in August 2017 after 12 years living in Manhattan cultivating positions as a sales and account manager for two of the nation’s largest harbor cruise companies where he planned large-scale, high-end events in the non-profit, education, and private events sectors.
As Associate Director for Donor Events & Engagement, his key responsibilities are anchored in the creation and oversight of strategy, concept, design, and execution of division-wide Chancellor and Vice Chancellor focused donor experiences. It is his goal to aid leadership in defining targeted events and engagement opportunities that promote the outstanding work being done at CU Boulder, as well as steward our most engaged donors in a manner appropriate to their relationship with the organization.
John achieved his undergrad at CU in 2006 with a BS in Broadcast News and a BA in Theatre. A fond advocate of volunteer efforts, John has worked in various event management capacities with the Ronald McDonald House, 9/11 Memorial, HRC Annual Gala, and the GLAAD Media Awards.
In his free time, John loves to take advantage of the many outdoor activities Colorado has to offer, as well as support its thriving art scene.
