Emily Wirtz joined the University of Colorado Boulder in March of 2018 as a writer and editor for the Office of Advancement. In this role, Emily researches, writes and edits stories that advance the university’s fundraising and engagement goals. Working with development officers, faculty and other Advancement staff to create proposals, impact reports, case statements and more, she helps ensure the donor experience is inspiring, engaging and consistent.
Before CU Boulder, Emily worked for a nonprofit friends group near Cleveland, Ohio, where she managed the organization's annual grant program and provided strategic oversight and editing for donor communications. Prior to that, Emily worked as a technical writer in Madison, Wisconsin.
Originally from Bettendorf, Iowa, Emily holds a B.A. in English and environmental studies from St. Olaf College in Minnesota. She now lives in Superior and enjoys hiking, skiing, playing board games and making music.
