Biography

Amanda Hopkins, J.D. is the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Advancement and responsible for developing and implementing strategy for campaign planning, principal gifts and donor relations, and serves as the primary liaison to CU System Advancement, including the Prospect Research, Prospect Development, Annual Giving and Gift Planning teams.

In June 2017, Amanda joined the University of Colorado’s gift planning team and most recently served as Department Head and Senior Director of Gift Planning. During her tenure, she led the gift planning efforts at CU Boulder and increased the number of blended and gift of asset conversations through training and coaching development officers and engaging donors in careful philanthropic planning to maximize desired impact.

Prior to joining CU, Amanda led the fundraising efforts at Rollins College as Assistant Vice President for Development. Amanda is also a licensed attorney in Florida and practiced in the areas of commercial real estate and secured finance law. She completed her juris doctorate at the University of Florida and her undergraduate at Rollins College.

Outside of work, Amanda enjoys researching her family lineage, reading historical fiction, gardening and traveling to visit extended family. Originally from the Caribbean, Amanda surprisingly enjoys the Colorado seasons with her husband and their two children.
