Amanda Hopkins, J.D., serves as Associate Vice Chancellor for Development at the University of Colorado Boulder, where she leads strategic fundraising planning and execution in support of ambitious philanthropic goals and institutional priorities. She plays a central role in planning CU Boulder’s inaugural comprehensive campaign and works closely with university leadership to align fundraising strategy with the university’s mission and long-term vision.
Amanda oversees teams across Development Operations, Principal Giving & Strategic Initiatives, Parent Giving & Campus-Wide Programs, Crown Institute & Campus Institutes, and Industry & Foundation Relations. She reports to the Vice Chancellor for Advancement and partners closely with CU System Advancement’s Research, Portfolio Intelligence, and Gift Planning teams to strengthen fundraising performance, donor engagement, and campaign strategy across the institution.
In recognition of her leadership and impact in higher education advancement, Amanda was named a recipient of the 2026 CASE District VI Chief Executive Leadership Award. The award celebrates institutional leaders whose vision, innovation, and commitment to advancement have strengthened their institutions and elevated the value of education through philanthropy and engagement.
Amanda was also recently featured as a guest on the RAISE Podcast, where she discussed advancement leadership, campaign strategy, organizational growth, and the evolving role of philanthropy in higher education.
Prior to joining CU Boulder, Amanda served as Assistant Vice President for Development at Rollins College. Before transitioning into higher education advancement, she practiced commercial real estate and secured finance law as a licensed attorney in Florida. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Florida and her undergraduate degree from Rollins College.
Known for her strategic mindset, operational leadership, and collaborative approach, Amanda has built and led high-performing teams that drive sustained fundraising growth and organizational transformation. Throughout her career, she has developed a reputation as a thoughtful strategist, trusted partner, intentional relationship builder, and leader who helps organizations translate vision into action through clear planning, accountability, and people-centered leadership.
Outside of work, Amanda enjoys researching her family lineage, reading historical fiction, and traveling with her family.
