Laura Hesse
- Coordinator
Laura was born in Orlando, Florida, but after spending over a decade in New York City, and graduating from New York University, she considers herself an official New Yorker. After spending time volunteering at a suicide crisis hotline, she realized she wanted to offer support and help to people in a larger context. Her desire to explore different types of helping professions, along with a strong suggestion from her sister who is passionate about the field, led her to higher education where she served as an academic advisor and the Registration Coordinator for the Undergraduate Drama Department at New York University, Tisch School of the Arts. Wanting to be closer to her family, she set her sights on Colorado where she first began working at CU Boulder with the first-year advising team.
In her work as Coordinator within the Office of Undergraduate Education, she helps to maintain and streamline specific university-wide processes which help provide student support across the undergraduate colleges.
When she’s not at work, she can likely be watching theater, laughing with her sister, or researching high performance, mindfulness, and personal development practices.
