The University of Colorado Mountain Research Station generates the majority of it's operational funds from fees charged to researchers, students, and other users.
A 2-tiered fee structure is now established to harmonize overhead charged to grants and educational users, and external CU customers not affiliated with education. This helps the Mountain Research Station support it's long-standing mission of research and education. This University-wide directive helps offset the cost of building and facility repair and updates, and services such as telephone, internet, heat, electricity, and other forms of administrative support.
