Dr. Montoya has been working closely with CU Office of Advancement to establish new sources of funding for our students, and we are pleased to announce a new scholarship specifically for MASP students. The Eagan Family Scholarship, which provides $1000 additional financial support for one active MASP student each year ($500/semester). The Eagan award, the first of three new MASP scholarships to be added by the end of this year, is based on financial need, academic merit, and positive involvement in the MASP community. In Spring 2017, 25 MASP students applied for the first Eagan Family Scholarship and it was awarded to Esmeralda Castillo Cobian!

Esmeralda is a junior who joined MASP through PEAC. She is a 4.0 student majoring in Ethnic Studies, with an English minor, and she is working towards a teaching licensure. She served as a PEAC RA in 2016 and has taken on leadership roles in other campus programs including UMAS Y MEChA, Aquetza: Youth Leadership, Education and Community Empowerment, and Eye Resist.  Congratulations, Esmeralda!!
