Private giving plays an increasingly important role in the life of CU-Boulder and in sustaining the School of Education’s extensive programs and community outreach.
Thank you in advance for your interest in supporting the School of Education. We value our relationships with individuals, philanthropic organizations, and private businesses. Gifts of any amount make a difference in the quality of the programs that we offer and in the lives of our students.
Transform Lives & Opportunities with Scholarships
Education Diversity Scholars | Julia Faliano, Pati Hernández, Josie Valadez, and Eunice Yoo
Education Diversity Scholars (EDS), a CU LEAD Alliance program, is a supportive, vibrant community within the School of Education, composed of individuals who are deeply and passionately committed to the School of Education’s mission to promote “democracy, diversity, and social justice.” EDS community members explore critical and culturally sustaining pedagogical development, equitable education policy, and research in education with schools, teachers, and youth. Many scholarships are given to under-represented and first-generation students who have chosen either Teacher Education or the Education Minor as a field of study.
Giving as a Community
Women Invested in the School of Education (WISE) members commit at least $1,000 per year for three consecutive years and meet annually to decide which innovative projects to support with their pooled funds. After reviewing proposals and hearing presentations on faculty projects, members determine their strategic emphasis, vote on the projects, and allocate their resources according to a group consensus. Through this direct involvement, members also learn about innovative projects in K–12 education, educational research, and outreach initiatives in their early stages.
