BoulderTalks fosters community and knowledge through democratic engagement.

We are guided by democratic values (such as inclusion, participation, and reciprocity) as well as reflexivity about how we communicate about cultural crises, conflicts and challenges through democratic practices (such as debate, dialogue, deliberation, mediation, restorative justice and performance ethnography).

BoulderTalks will help network, mobilize, train and support the study and praxis of democratic communication on campus, regionally, nationally and globally. Topics of interest include the environment, education, social justice, security and identity. The center will also address new issues in which democratic engagement is called for as such issues emerge as sources of societal debate.

BoulderTalks is a center of the Department of Communication in the College of Media, Communication and Information at the University of Colorado Boulder.
