As part of our Activist-in-Residence Program, we invited award-winning filmmaker and writer Paromita Vohra to campus to discuss her work as a documentarian, artist, digital activist, and the ways in which she makes media for social change.

Alumna update: Petra Watzke '09

Currently a visiting assistant professor of German at Skidmore College, Dr. Petra Watzke is a 2009 graduate of CU Boulder, earning both the Graduate Certificate in Women and Gender Studies and a master’s degree in German Studies.

Katie Huey

Alumna update: Katie Huey '11

Katie (Christman) Huey graduated in 2011 with a major in sociology and a minor in women and gender studies. For the last three years, she has been writing a blog 52BeautifulThings.com about a search for ordinary beautiful things in an aching world.

Emmanuel David

New Book Release: Women of the Storm

In his newly released book, Dr. Emmanuel David chronicles the work of the activist group "Women of the Storm" in their mission to confront the crises caused by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
