Marcello is an M.S. student focusing on Engineering in Developing Communities in the Civil Engineering program. Marcello was born in Mexico City to Brazilian parents and lived in the Washington DC area for 18 years. He received his B.S. from University of Maryland at College park in Civil Engineering. Marcello worked in construction management for about 2 years on heavy civil projects. He then worked for a private engineering consulting firm doing site development engineering for 3 years. He is a professional engineer registered in the state of Maryland. During his time at CU Boulder, Marcello wants to focus on water, sanitation, and hygiene specifically full cycle improved sanitation practices. He is also currently involved with Engineers without Boarders Guatemala team. During his free time, he enjoys traveling, hiking, camping, good food, good beer, live music, and playing soccer.
