Positive change in the CU Boulder community will require continuous effort and struggle. It is on us to make our community everything we desire and know it can be, starting with individual action and outreach.

CU Boulder offers a host of universal design resources and services to help ensure content is accessible for all learners. As a new semester starts, these are the tools, services and learning opportunities instructors and content developers will find most useful.

As part of CU's commitment to an accessible campus environment, OIT now offers SensusAccess, an online service that allows anyone with a @colorado.edu email address to upload content and have it automatically converted to an accessible document type.

At this time of year, we celebrate the vision, accomplishments and ultimately the life of Martin Luther King Jr., who inspired a nation to stand up against racism and discrimination. Help CU take steps toward creating a welcoming community that embraces inclusion, diversity and respectful dialogue.

January's monthly brown bag event will feature a presentation by Pamela Rosse from the Research & Innovation Office, focusing on the subject of conflicts of interest. The presentation will be held Monday, Jan. 23, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Rec Center.

​Students now have a brand new place to gather at Williams Village. The Village Center Dining and Community Commons opened Jan. 11 and features state-of-the-art services from dining to residential programs, as well as healthcare and counseling.

In 1959, the folk music craze sweeping America prompted several CU affiliates to produce a record titled "Folk Song Festival at Exodus," which would later propel one featured group to the Billboard charts and a young employee, Judy Collins, to true superstardom.

The Bioneers network event Front Range Eco-Social Solutions will return to CU Boulder Feb. 3 and 4. The event, produced by the CU Environmental Center, brings together progressive thinkers of the region to address both global and local issues.

Laverne Cox, an Emmy-nominated actress best known for her role in the Netflix series "Orange is The New Black," will speak at CU Boulder’s Macky Auditorium on Jan. 25. The speech is co-hosted by the university’s student-run Cultural Events Board and Distinguished Speakers Board.

The Department of Human Resources invites CU Boulder employees to register for spring seminars, workshops and programs to help employees expand knowledge, learn new skills and enhance wellbeing.
