A Russian Court on Tuesday sentenced Aleksei Navalny, one of Valdimir Putin's harshest critics, to more than two years in prison, fueling escalating street protests across the country and condemnation from the international community. 

Sarah Sokhey, an associated professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Colorado Boulder, can discuss the current unrest in Russia, local views of Putin and the impact of the Navalny ruling. Sokhey is also an associate fellow at the International Center for the Study of Institutions and Development at the Higher School of Economics in Moscow.
