Good news, Buffs! You can still access the libraries’ physical collections during this period of remote-only instruction. The University Libraries are continuing to offer contactless pickup services on books and other library materials to current students, faculty and staff.

The process is simple: Request the items you need (you may have up to 10 items on hold at a time) using the libraries' catalog. When materials are paged, you will receive an email with a link to reserve a time to pick up your items from Norlin’s west entrance.

“We know that many people miss the library, but most are grateful that they still have the ability to access library materials,” said Gabrielle Wiersma, leader of the libraries’ collection management team. “The majority—75%—of users who have provided feedback about contactless pickup have indicated that they are ‘extremely satisfied’ with the service.”

Pick up times can be reserved up to 12 hours in advance.

Can’t pick up all requested items at once? The libraries will hold any items not retrieved until you’re able to schedule another pick up time during the 14-day borrowing period.

Most materials held at Norlin Library, Gemmill Library, the Earth Sciences & Map Library, the Music Library and the Business Library may be requested. Some materials being made available electronically via HathiTrust are not available for contactless pickup.

Please continue to follow the self-quarantine period guidelines established by campus and Boulder County Public Health when picking up materials.
