The libraries will provide contactless libraries materials pickup for CU Boulder affiliates beginning July 21. Users may start placing holds, up to 10 at the time on July 15 and once their materials are paged they will be able to place a reservation using the link in the hold notice they receive via email. You will be able to pick up materials on the west porch of Norlin Library at the time you reserved.

Outside of Norlin Library in summer

At this time materials at PASCAL, our off-site storage facility, and some materials from HathiTrust are not available for contactless pickup. The HathiTrust Emergency Temporary Access Service (ETAS) (about and guide) provides online reading access to digital surrogates of 48% of the libraries’ print collections. You will notice that these materials now have the status HathiTrust. We invite you to request electronic materials purchases through the Suggest a Purchase form or direct communication with your subject specialist librarian.

In addition, our interlibrary loan service continues to support requests for electronic materials, comprehensive electronic resources are available to the university community, subject specialist librarians and the libraries’ Ask a Librarian service are available to provide virtual assistance, and we welcome course reserves requests for the summer and fall 2020 terms.

We appreciate how highly the CU Boulder community values libraries facilities and our rich and unique physical collections, and we understand that the libraries’ virtual services and electronic resources cannot replace on-site access and our full physical collections. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we develop plans to protect the health and safety of the CU Boulder community and look ahead to future, expanded libraries access. You can continue to find the most recent information on this and other services on the Libraries Coronavirus and Libraries Services Updates page.
