CU Boulder experts can address issues related to the successful launch today of the world’s most powerful rocket, the SpaceX Falcon Heavy. The launch marks the first time a rocket this powerful has been sent into space by a private company vs. a government space agency. The payload? SpaceX Founder, CEO and Lead Designer Elon Musk’s red Roadster, an electric sports car built by his other company, Tesla.

Bobby Braun, dean of the College of Engineering and Applied Science and former chief technologist for NASA, can discuss the technical aspects of the launch and what it means for the U.S. space program.

Phil Larson, assistant dean and chief of staff at the College of Engineering and Applied Science and former member of the SpaceX strategic communications team, can discuss implications for commercial space travel and the aerospace industry in general.

Jack Burns, professor in the Department of Astrophysical and Planetary Sciences, can talk about the design of next-generation observatories in space and on the moon.
