Following the issuance of new guidance documents today from the U.S. Department of Education, we want to assure our community that the university remains firmly committed to the prevention of and response to sexual violence.

As I join in celebrating tonight's kickoff of the 10th New Venture Challenge, it seems fitting to shine a light on the growing energy and activity emanating from our Innovation & Entrepreneurship Initiative.

How can we set course for a future we can scarcely imagine? Across CU Boulder, initiatives are inviting our community to develop the mechanisms and resiliency that will allow us to thrive in a world of change.

Let me take a few moments to introduce our new one-stop webpage for faculty, and a few new members of my leadership team. There also is a new staff-focused page.

Like some of you today, I listened to U.S. Education Secretary Betsy DeVos' speech on the future of enforcement of Title IX sexual misconduct laws. While OIEC will assess impacts from any new federal proposals, we will continue to diligently follow federal law and strive to maintain the best practices and policies possible.

Provost Moore and SVC Fox discuss the campus's new Academic Futures initiative and the importance of the current "what" phase before we get to the "how" phase.

We are deeply disappointed about today's White House decision to end DACA and will take full advantage of the six-month grace period to make a compelling case for the program.

As the leaders of the University of Colorado, we cherish our DACA students and add our voices urging Congress to quickly find a pathway that will allow current and future undocumented students, all of whom have spent years being educated in the U.S., to complete their studies without fear for their futures.

College life offers students a rich array of choices when it comes to meeting new people, engaging in new opportunities and exploring new concepts and ideas.
