The campaign season is upon us and we know from recent experience that our campus is a popular location for campaign stops. Participating in the democratic process is certainly a privilege, but as public employees we have special responsibilities.

The CU Boulder Psychology Department is looking for participants for experiments about learning, memory, perception and language.

U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice Sonia Sotomayor, appointed in 2009 as the first Hispanic member on the bench of the nation’s highest court, spoke of self-worth and determination to a crowd of nearly 1,800 at CU Boulder’s Macky Auditorium on Sept. 2. 



Join the CU Environmental Center as it launches the new Eco-Engage Events Program on Saturday, Sept. 2, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The program's first excursion will take students on a tour of sustainable and local food systems on campus and in Boulder, including CU dining, the Boulder Farmers' Market, Boulder Food Rescue and two local organic farms. The deadline to enroll is Sept. 6.

The city manager and staff will ask the Boulder City Council next week to consider a collaborative plan with the university to develop a new hotel and conference center in the heart of the city. The center will have the potential to help revitalize The Hill commercial district and create a modern gathering place for academics, researchers and the community.

Bragging rights in Colorado for the next 364 days will be up for grabs Friday night when Colorado and Colorado State square off in the Rocky Mountain Showdown, one of the oldest college football rivalries in the Rocky Mountain West.

Are you going to the Rocky Mountain Showdown and need a ride? The University of Colorado Student Government and CU Athletics have paired up to make free bus rides available to CU Boulder students going to the CU vs CSU game on Friday, Sept. 2. The buses will board in front of the Coors Events Center beginning at 2 p.m.
