Having started in 1999 as a hazardous materials specialist, Boger has been a CU Boulder employee with EH&S for 23 years. During his tenure he has worked with many campus partners on various projects, improving internal processes. Boger's leadership and dedicated nature will be missed by EH&S staff, as well as the Office of Infrastructure and Sustainability and other university staff.

Gates-Mayer joined the CU Boulder EH&S office in 2012 as the campus biosafety officer after working at the University of Idaho for 18 years as an industrial hygienist and biosafety officer. After several years in the EH&S office as biosafety officer, Gates-Mayer took on the additional role of assistant director. Then, most recently, she served as the director of research safety and support. Her breadth of knowledge and expertise will bring vital experience to our EH&S programs, crucial in supporting the university's strategic initiatives.

The Department of Environmental Health and Safety provides comprehensive services and support that allow the university to maintain its high health and safety standards for its many laboratories, work areas and classrooms. EH&S achieves this through interdepartmental collaboration. The department's work is designed to minimize safety, health, environmental and regulatory risks to the university community.
