Under Pressure?
Ooof, sometimes you need help and you need it now! We got you. In the Norlin fishbowl (2nd floor), our Ask a Librarian desk is open and expert librarians are here to help you refine your research questions and help you find the books and articles you need for your assignments. With wide tables and lots of seating, this is a great place to collaborate with your classmates. And check out that architecture, it’s stunning.
Feeling chatty?
You need to focus and you want the support of a nearby friend. Well, the tables with dividers at the newly renovated Business Library is your go-to study spot. The interior has a clean, modern design with minimal distractions. The tables have outlets to plug in your laptop and the cushioned seat is a perfect balance of comfort and practicality for those longer study sessions. Have a question? The library service desk is just a step away or meet with a librarian. The Gravity Cafe is also nearby for a quick caffeine fix.
Crushing your to-do list?
It sounds like you are really focused or you have a group project and you need a place to meet. The Gemmill Library collaborative study area has big tables for teams to spread out. Check out our space tourism posters while you’re working. We encourage you to use your regular voices, no whispering required. Need help finding databases or other course materials? Check out our service desk or schedule an appointment with an expert librarian. And if you need to escape the noise, head downstairs to the silent study area.
Maintaining that blissful vibe?
Bright, colorful and modern, the Music Library is not only a total mood, but the perfect study space for students looking for quiet and comfort. Put on your headphones and relax into one of its many comfortable chairs. The service desk is closeby for support or you can schedule an appointment with an expert librarian. The listening station is open when you need the genius of your favorite composer to give you inspiration.
Pulling weights behind you?
Are you tired, but also need to get a lot of group work done? The Norlin Commons study rooms are the place for you! This spot is perfect for the students who need to be serenaded by the sounds of espresso machines and chatter from nearby tables in order to be productive. The space features the Laughing Goat Coffeehouse, a variety of seat options (both individual and group tables) and study rooms with TV displays. Need to check out materials or receive writing support? The service desk and the Writing Center are both nearby, or pop upstairs to the Ask a Librarian desk.
Expanding your horizons?
If you wanted to study next to a stegosaurus fossil, you came to the right place. The Earth Sciences & Map Library is perfect for quiet study, alone or with your friends. Take a moment to enjoy the sights, because this library has a lot going on, exhibits, giant crystals and a phenomenal map collection.
