Alternative Breaks sends teams of college students to engage in community-based service projects during spring break. These student-led volunteer trips focus on making a positive impact on environmental and social justice issues in various communities.

Here are five reasons to go all in and take an Alternative Break trip this spring.

Make a positive difference

There are a variety of trips covering issues on environmental conservation, food access, animal welfare and more. Spend your spring break supporting a cause you are passionate about.

Travel with a new perspective and purpose

Travel and share new experiences with fellow Buffs who want to make a difference. Trips for spring 2020 will visit places including Tennessee, Nevada and California.

Learn about yourself

Stepping out of our comfort zone is key to personal growth. This is a great way to learn not only about issues affecting other communities but to learn more about yourself outside of the classroom.

Meet new people

Traveling with other CU students is a great way to make new friends and get to know them on a deeper level. Each student brings a unique perspective and insight to the group.
