Boulder in winter.

The weather in Boulder can be unpredictable, at times bringing heavy snowstorms, high winds and dangerous wind chills. Take a moment to check out some winter weather tips and precautions.

Under extreme weather conditions, the chancellor may decide to close the campus early or not to open campus offices and departments, provided that "essential services" will be maintained. The decision to not open the campus will normally be made by 5:30 a.m. on the day of the extreme weather.

Under the Inclement Weather Policy for the State of Colorado, each college and university establishes its own individual inclement weather policy. Therefore, the Boulder campus closure decision may on occasion differ from the decision for state offices.
