From the Stampede Homecoming parade and pep rally to a special Will Vill Halloween celebration, CU Boulder students are invited to attend a scary number of free events celebrating Homecoming and Halloween, Oct. 25–31.
Thursday, Oct. 25
Head to the Rec Center at 8 p.m. for free food and archery tag!
Friday, Oct. 26
Gather on the Pearl Street Mall in front of the courthouse at 7 p.m. to celebrate your CU spirit with students, fellow alumni and the community! After the parade, stick around for the pep rally celebrating football, men’s and women’s basketball. You don't want to miss this fun night of CU pride!
Put on your best Halloween costume and head to the Rec Center from 8:30 to 11 p.m. for free ice skating and pumpkin painting! Pizza will also be provided. Bring your Buff OneCard for entry.
Saturday, Oct. 27
Join hundreds of other CU students and fellow Buffs in the indoor practice facility east of Folsom Field at 10 a.m. to celebrate Homecoming before the Oregon State football game. In addition to free food, drinks, music and games, there will be hourly giveaways from The Herd. This event is open to all students with a valid Buff OneCard.
Cheer on the Buffs at Folsom Field as they take on the Oregon State Beavers. The game kicks off at 1 p.m. Domestic Violence Awareness Month will also be recognized during this game, and resources will be available from the Office of Victim Assistance.
CU students can see a free showing of Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween at the 29th Street Mall Century Theatre. Show time will be 9:55 p.m.; bring your Buff OneCard, and stop by the CU Boulder table in the theater lobby for your free ticket.
Enjoy free food, bowling and billiards at The Connection between 10 p.m. and midnight.
Sunday, Oct. 28

Join Program Council in Chem 140 at 8 p.m. for this scary showing of Hereditary. “When the matriarch of the Graham family passes away, her daughter and grandchildren begin to unravel cryptic and increasingly terrifying secrets about their ancestry, trying to outrun the sinister fate they have inherited.” Free admission and popcorn.
This unique and free dyno climbing competition will begin at 8 p.m. in the Rec Center climbing gym. Prizes will be given to the competition winner and best costume. Bring your Buff OneCard!
Wednesday, Oct. 31
Looking for housing for next semester or next year? Stop by the UMC Glenn Miller Ballroom between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. to explore local housing options, meet with property managers and companies, and find information to help inform your search. Plus, enjoy free pizza at noon, and enter to win a flat screen TV!
Join the Volunteer Resource Center for a delightful opportunity to show your appreciation for volunteers and service work in our community and learn about volunteer opportunities. 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in UMC room 425. Enjoy free food too.
Stop by the Museum of Natural History (Henderson), BioLounge from 1-5 p.m. to make a Halloween-themed lantern out of upcycled mason jars. Each jar comes with an LED tealight.
Join fellow crafters at this paint-by-numbers event in UMC 235 from 5 to 7 p.m. Free food and painting supplies will be provided.
Join the residents of Williams Village from 6 to 8 p.m. for a Halloween evening filled with fun, food and prizes. Each Will Vill community center will have stations including a hot chocolate bar and caramel apple bar, pumpkin decorating, chalk art, Halloween makeup tutorials, henna art and temporary tattoos. Those who stop by all of the residence halls will win a special prize!
