Register for the Leo Hill Leadership Speaker Series: An Evening with Mae Jemison Feb. 27

Tickets for the Leo Hill Distinguished Leadership Speaker Series became available at 10 a.m. today. Register to reserve your space. Mae Jemison, an icon of women's and civil rights, was the first woman of color to reach space. 

Tuesday, Jan. 30

Register for the NSF CAREER proposal writing workshop Feb. 6

The deadline is 5 p.m., Jan. 30, to register to "give your NSF CAREER proposal a boost." The Research & Innovation Office workshop will cover: understanding the requirements, learning competitive approaches and initiating connections with campus resources. The Feb. 6 event will feature RIO proposal writer Diane Carillo, as well as a panel discussion with current CU Boulder CAREER awardees Nils Haverson and Shideh Dashti.

Postdoc orientation

New CU Boulder postdocs are invited to attend the next postdoc orientation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Jan. 30. RSVP is required. The orientation will help familiarize postdocs with CU Boulder and career pathways. 

Wednesday, Jan. 31

Injury screening

The Musculoskeletal Injury "MSK" clinic provides screenings by a physical therapist for minor injuries involving muscles and joints. Recommendations for injury prevention and self-care are also provided. Stop by the Rec Center and Wardenburg Health Center during MSK clinic hours. The required fee at the time of service for employees is $20.

Super Blue Blood Moon

Thursday, Feb. 1

For your student employees

Today is the "use it or lose it" work-study deadline, or the last day for student-staff members to start earning work-study for the spring semester without it being cancelled. It also is the time collection due date for student employees. All time information must be entered and approved into the CU payroll system by noon on each due date. If you miss a deadline, your student(s) will not be paid until the next pay period.

Academic Futures Forum: Staff perspectives on university governance and decision-making

The next Academic Futures staff forum will include a discussion about staff perspectives on university governance and decision-making. The forum will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. in Room 247 of the University Memorial Center. Get more details.

Four emerging choreographers use original dance to share their knowledge of archetypes, science, philosophy and the natural world. Starts 7:30 p.m. in the Charlotte York Irey Theatre. Tickets are $16.
