After smoke was reported this morning on the third floor of Porter Biosciences, Boulder Fire and CU’s Environmental Health & Safety have investigated the building. EH&S has determined that there is no hazardous materials concern. They are investigating whether there was an electrical issue with one of the refrigerators that may have caused smoke.

Porter Biosciences is located near 18th Street and Colorado Avenue on the CU Boulder campus. No injuries were reported in the indident.

The third floor of Porter Biosciences will remain closed. However, the rest of Porter Biosciences and all of the Gold Biosciences and Muenzinger Psychology buildings, which had been evacuated, have now reopened. Classes in the three buildings were canceled Friday, Nov. 17.
