The university community is invited to join the Office of International Education in celebration of International Education Week Nov. 13–17. Events include an annual reception, a Global Buffs Book Club Skype session with author Steph Jagger and a discussion about the international student experience at CU Boulder.

Founded jointly by the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education, International Education Week represents “an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This joint initiative is part of our efforts to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences in the United States.”

Some highlights of the week at CU Boulder include:

Global Buffs Book Club

Tuesday, Nov. 14, 5–7 p.m.
Center for Community (C4C), JD Abrams Lounge

A Skype session with Steph Jagger, author of the book Unbound: A Story of Snow and Self-Discovery

The International Student Experience at CU

Wednesday, Nov. 15, 3 p.m.
University Memorial Center, room 425

This student-driven discussion will explore specific challenges international students face, as well as ways their experiences can contribute to CU Boulder's efforts to create a more internationalized campus overall.

International Education Week annual reception

Wednesday, Nov. 15, 4–6 p.m.
Center for Community (C4C), JD Abrams Lounge

The 2017 Global Citizen awardees and the winners of the student photo contest will be recognized. The first Undergraduate International Research Poster Session will also be held during the reception. Light refreshments will be served. Please RSVP here.
