Ghost-like sculptureWith Friday the 13th upon us and Halloween around the corner, CU Boulder experts are available to discuss the roots of superstition and our fascination with ghosts and horror.

Stephen Graham Jones is a creative writing professor and author of numerous horror novels. He will teach an advanced horror fiction writing course at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park from Dec. 26 to Jan. 12. He can speak about the roots of superstition and why people like to be scared. Scott Bruce is a medieval historian, professor and director of the Center for Medieval and Early Modern Studies. He is also a former grave-digger, and the curator of The Penguin Book of the Undead: Fifteen Hundred Years of Supernatural Encounters, a haunting anthology of ghostly encounters between the living and the dead.
