Today, Senior Vice Chancellor Kelly Fox named Katherine Erwin Interim Chief Human Resources Officer. Scott Morris, who was named CHRO in December 2014, is currently on leave from the university.

“Katherine has done a fabulous job in her many years with the Human Resources department and currently serves as AVC and Deputy CHRO," said Fox. "I have every confidence that she can carry forward the momentum that the Human Resources team has created in transforming the role of Human Resources in helping the university more directly achieve its goals.”

Erwin began her career at the University of Colorado Boulder in 1991 as an instructor in Norlin Library, a position which she left in 1996 to attend the University of Colorado School of Law.
After receiving her law degree in 1999, she returned to the university as a legal associate for the Office of University Counsel, where she worked until April 2003 when she joined the Office of Discrimination and
Harassment and the Office of Labor Relations as an employee relations specialist, investigator and trainer. She advanced to director of the Office of Discrimination and
Harassment and the Office of Labor Relations in 2008 and to Deputy Chief HR Officer in January 2015.

Erwin earned her Bachelor of Arts and Masters of Science in Library Science degrees from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and her JD from University of Colorado Boulder.
