Emerson was born and raised in a small town in Maryland then moved to Highlands Ranch, Colorado with her family where she attended Mountain Vista High School. She is majoring in Creative Technology and Design and minoring in Ecology/ Evolutionary Biology. She is thrilled to be a part of the HLC and to be able to utilize her leadership skills to engage with the CU and Boulder community. Outside of the Herd she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing sports, participating in outdoor activities, art, and hanging out with her best friend Julianne!

Julianne and Emerson ran as co-presidents of the Herd Leadership Council in 2020. They have since been sharing the roles of both president and vice president for the first time since the council's establishment.
