Katarina Lott is a dance artist, performance-art maker and educator. She was recently doing all of these (and many other less glamorous) things as a freelancer in New York City from 2012-2020, where she had the pleasure of collaborating and performing original works with Artichoke Dance Company, chrisbelldances, Sue Bernhard Danceworks, Kathryn Alter & Dancers, among others, and performing reconstructed works by Merce Cunningham and Jose Limon. She is a proud founder/member of Guilty Pleasures Cabaret, a NY-based female-owned/operated song and dance variety show celebrating its 7th year. She has also danced in commercial work including bouncing around the globe with bollywood spectacular Mystic India. Katarina has shown her solo work in various NYC venues and found spaces and is eager to continue creating in her new home here in Boulder. She also has a love for teaching movement/dance, specifically working with special needs populations. She had the immense pleasure of working with students of all abilities in NYC public schools, creating dance residencies for students in under-privileged neighborhoods across the five boroughs. Katarina’s curiosity about and belief in embodied activism drives her current research and teaching as she settles down here at the foot of the mountains.
