CU Theatre & Dance alumna and "fairy godmother" Roe Green received the Theatre Forward Leadership Award on April 3 in New York at the organization's annual Chairman's Awards Gala. The Gala supports Theatre Forward's philanthropic mission to advance American theaters and communities through various initiatives. Roe Green is an arts patron and activist and CU Boulder alumna.

She received her B.A in theatre and communications from the University of Colorado in 1970 and in 1980 she was awarded an M.A. in theatre from Kent State University. She has extensive stage and business management experience, includes Cain Park, The Cleveland Opera, and the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park. In 2005, the Roe Green Foundation established a Visiting Theatre Artist series at CU which invites a guest professional artist each year to work in residency with students and participate in one of the Theatre Division's productions every year. Now in its 12th year, the Roe Green Visiting Artist Series continues to bring theatre professionals to CU.

She also generously established the Roe Green Endowed Chair in Theatre, the first endowed chair in the arts at CU Boulder.  We salute this vibrant benefactor and celebrate her being honored by Theatre Forward.
