Exasol is a high speed scalable, in-memory, massively parallel processing database designed specifically for analytics. In May 2018, CU Online, in partnership with the OIT, implemented Exasol as an on-premises solution to data storage for the University of Colorado Denver with the goal of having a single data warehouse which makes university data actionable, relevant, adaptable, and connected.

As a proof of concept, in July 2018, CU Online loaded over 1.5 billion rows of historical Canvas data into Exasol. Since then, they have worked on loading other data sources and capturing live events from Canvas. Come see how CU Online is using Exasol to run fast queries on Canvas data, provide support to schools and colleges, and hear their ideas for the future of data at CU Denver.
