CU Theater Building

Welcome to Fringe!!!

The application for show proposals is located here: goo.gl/forms/CdLacktU3DTF1IP32

The deadline has been extended to February 3, 2018 at 11:59 PM.

CU Fringe Festival is a celebration of all art. For one weekend, CU Onstage, a student run organization, takes over the entire Theater Building on the CU campus. Besides the original plays, music performances and films, there will also be installation art and happenings around campus. The 2018 CU Fringe Festival will be April 27-29, 2018!

Have you ever wanted to direct your own play or musical? Are you an aspiring choreographer who has never had the opportunity to create your own dance performance? Do you have a film that you'd love to get in front of a bigger audience? Do you have some other art (a cappella, comedy, magic, etc.) that you'd love to perform in front of others?

Then the CU Fringe Festival is for you!

What is CU Fringe Festival?

CU Fringe Festival is an annual performing arts festival that takes place every Spring. It is completely student run (and we mean completely: directors, actors, choreographers, technicians, producers, ushers, and more are all students).

The weekend is filled with plays, musicals, films, dance shows, burlesque, a cappella, comedy, and more!

The best part is, it's completely FREE to participate in, and completely FREE to see all the shows!

When is CU Fringe Festival?

CU Fringe Festival 2018 will take place April 27-29 in the University Theatre.

How do I become a part of CU Fringe Festival?

If you would like to submit a show to direct, applications are open now. You can follow this link. Applications will be accepted through February 3, 2018 at 11:59PM.  If the show is an original piece of work, scripts will need to be completed by mid February. As a director, you have access to auditions, performance space in the theatre building (including the University Theatre, the Loft Theatre, or the Acting Studio), with the potential of having up to 2 performances and at least one tech rehearsal in the space. You will also have access to most of Costume Storage and Props Storage. We will also cover costs for performance rights for published shows.

If you are interested in performing in CU Fringe Festival, auditions will be held in mid to late February. An additional email will be going out with more details.

If you are interested in helping to plan and run the festival, please attend our weekly OnStage meetings, every Thursday from 5-6pm in C342 in the Theatre Building, or email sarah.digiovani@colorado.edu.

We would love to have as many amazing shows in this year's Fringe Festival as possible, so please participate in any way you can!
