Laura Edlin is the executive director of Human Resources, Policy and Compliance for the Division of Student Affairs. Laura has been in this role since June 2018 and prior to that began working at CU Boulder in 2012 in the campus Human Resources office in Employee Relations. She leads a team that is responsible for the HR functions for the Division including hiring top talent, ensuring pay equity across the Division and retaining our employees.
Laura received a bachelor’s degree from Boston College in psychology and started her professional career in the travel industry after taking a gap year in Australia and New Zealand. She moved to Boulder, CO in early 2002 and transitioned to working in the ski and snowboard industry organizing group ski trips for graduate schools. Laura then completed her master’s degree in couples and family therapy at CU Denver while working with a non- profit organization in Boulder. As the non-profit grew she was asked to take on some HR responsibilities and this began her love for HR. Laura enjoys working directly with people and talking through challenges and opportunities in the work place and how best to align talent to meet the business objectives of a unit. She lives in Boulder and enjoys time outdoors with her two little kids and dog Penny. On the weekends you can find them on the trails hiking, skiing or bike riding.
