Donna Louie
Teaching Associate Professor/Senior Instructor

Dr. Donna Louie received her BS degree in Chemistry in from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces and subsequently a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.  She then conducted postdoctoral research at CU Boulder in the Department of Biochemistry. Her graduate and postdoctoral research resulted in numerous publications and a US patent. After spending some time at home raising her two children, Dr. Louie began a teaching career at CU Boulder in 2004. She taught biology for five years at Baker Residential Academic Program (RAP) and has been teaching nutrition for the past 10 years mainly at Libby, Baker, and Sewall (now Stories and Societies) RAPs. Dr. Louie is a rostered faculty for Libby, Baker, and Stories and Societies RAPs. She loves teaching nutrition in the RAPs because of the small class size, getting to know the students really well, and knowing that they will have the basic skills to live long, productive, healthy lives after completing her class. When she is not teaching, she is playing tennis, gardening, reading, and spending time with her family.
