The mission of the Foundation is to support early stage investigators engaged in biomedical research that has the potential to significantly advance the understanding, diagnosis, or treatment of disease.

Internal Application Requirements (all in PDF format)
- Project Summary (2 pages maximum): A summary will also be required for submission to Mallinckrodt and the Mallinckrodt Board includes non-scientist members, so making this summary understood for a layperson is particularly important. The summary should include the project’s title.
- PI Biosketch in NIH format (5 pages maximum)
- Budget Overview (1 page maximum): A basic budget outlining project costs is sufficient; detailed OCG budgets are not required.

Applicants should be in the first to fourth year of their tenure track faculty position and not have current R01 funding.
Limited Submission Guidelines
Any domestic biomedical institution, whether solely research or educational, is invited to submit one candidate for the Mallinckrodt Board's consideration.
Award Amount: Grants are usually $60,000 per year (total of $180,000 for 3 years).
Award Duration: Up to 3 years.
