Participating in Studio Lab will afford me several variations of growth. Intellectually, I will be able to strengthen my critical thinking abilities and problem solving skills. As a computer science major, I have a passion for efficiency and optimization; being in a lab setting will provide a team-based environment where I can apply those passions by solving technical issues throughout the project. Socially, being in Studio Lab gives me the privilege of building a strong community with people I can relate to. One of the most attractive elements of Studio Lab is working with mentors who can help me grow. Mentors are such an important resource and I would really appreciate an expert’s input and advice on my current plans and research methodology. Professionally, being in a lab is both a strong desire as well as a necessity; I have an interest in exploring research for my career and having early, hands-on experience will let me start that journey sooner. I have a dream of using technology and coding to improve people’s lives; this is a lifelong goal of mine and being in Studio Lab will expose me to, as well as foster, skills that I will need in order to make that dream a reality. As I mentioned previously, I really value community and working as a team.
