Trailhead: South Mt. Elbert TH
Distance: 12.5 miles RT
Difficulty: Class 1 (Easy - Moderate), low exposure

Summit the tallest mountain in Colorado! 14,433 ft! 
The trail meanders through forest and over stream until it breaks treeline and follows the East Ridge route to the southeast side of the peak. 

NOTES: Plan on 6-8 hours total hike time, and BE OFF THE SUMMIT BY NOON. Begin before sunrise to avoid dangerous thunderstorms. If you see storm clouds gathering, turn around. Always tell someone where you are going and when you plan to be back.
