Show Yourself Some Love

Fuel Your Body: January 29-February 4

Stop by the table outside of the Fit Well Suite and share reasons you love your body.  Write on a post it note your Love your Body statement.  Examples:  “Love my legs for all the steps to and from classes each day”  “ Love my back for keeping my upright during those long study sessions”. Encourage others to state why they love their body and all it does for them.  This poster will remain up for the entire 5 weeks so that we can all watch it grow with positive statements.

Join Kathleen Farrell R.D. in a discussion on what you can do to nourish your body, fill it with the energy you need.  Also discover how what we eat can affect our mood. That stress, an emotional trigger, can send us in directions we weren’t planning on.  Find out how to emotionally nourish yourself by celebrating you.  No fee or registration required.

Mind Body Connection: February 5 – February 11

Stop by the Fit Well Suite for a brief guided meditation, no previous experience necessary.  Find out how to use meditation in your everyday life or as a tool to reduce stress.  Mats will be provided, no registration required.

Joy of Movement: February 12 – February 18

This week highlights different opportunities to try something new.  Instructors and Personal Trainers will be at each event to teach as well as offer tips in Strength Training and Swimming.

Sometimes when embarking on a new learning experience the environment can be as intimidating as the thought of trying something new. Join us in one of our following sessions to help us show you ways to eliminate the intimidation here at the rec center through proper education on weight lifting form and how to navigate the weight room floor. Allowing for the understanding that all people can strength train together, personal trainers will speak to specific questions that often generate in regards to strength training.  Raising comfort levels and introducing basic principles will be the focus of this program.

Date:  Wednesday, February 14 8:00-9:00pm​
Location: Meet at the Fit Well Suite

These classes will be free all week to Rec Center members who would like to have a coach take a look at their stroke technique, offer swimming workouts and swim training analysis.

Date:  Monday, Wednesday and Friday Swim Strong from 7-8:30am, Tuesday and Thursday it is held from 11am-12:15pm.
