January 19, 2018: A pre-bid meeting for construction companies was held to review the project. The project will go out to bid for contruction compainies the week of January 29, 2018. A general contractor for the project will be selected the week of February 5, 2018. October 18, 2017: A meeting was held with CU Facilities Planning, Recreation Services, Davis Partnership Architects, a structural engineer firm, and an aquatic design company. The scope of the Pool Drain Pipe Replacement Project was discussed at length at this meeting. The structural engineer firm is currently reviewing the pool area structural plans and the aquatic design company is working on putting together plans to replace the damaged drain pipe. The first draft of construction documents should be available to Recreation Services by November 6, 2017. The construction plans will then need to be reviewed and approved by Recreation Services, CU Facilities Management, and the Health Department. We will have a construction schedule once the construction documents get approved by all parties involved.
October 9, 2017: Our beloved 40 year old Competition Pool will be CLOSED indefinitely for major repairs needed to the plumbing system. We know the competition pool is a favorite spot for many of our patrons and re-opening the pool is a top priority for Recreation Services Please check back here for further updates.
