Join us on Thursday to learn more about RC and our offerings and to participate in our New Use Seminar. We invite you to attend just one hour or both!

The first hour (2-3 pm) will focus on the basics of Research Computing and how we can help you!

Topics will include:

- What is RC?

- RC resources (Summit, Petalibrary, etc.)

- RC User services (Consulting, training, etc.)

 

The second hour (3-4 pm) will be our New Summit User seminar. This session will be focused on Summit in particular without the overview of RC offerings. This seminar will be interactive.

In this second session, you will learn how to login, how to request allocations, the different spaces to store your data, a quick introduction to data transfer (including Globus), how to load software, how to run a job, and how to ask for help.

Topics will include:

- Summit overview

- Dos and Don'ts

- Using Summit

- Compute Time Allocations

- Examples

 

Audience:  people who have just gotten access to Research Computing resources, or plan to in the near future

Requirements:  To participate in the interactive portion, we will expect you to have an RC account already set up, including having the Duo authentication.  You can attend without this, however, your experience will be greatly enhanced by having an account already.
