The Renewable and Sustainable Energy (RSE) Certificate with the Environmental Studies Program at CU Boulder has been discontinued and as of Fall 2018 will no longer be accepting new students into the program. 

If you are a prospective student interested in the field of renewable and sustainable energy, we encourage you to review some of our other energy education options available at CU Boulder. 
All current RSE certificate students have been contacted about options available to complete their certificate.

RSE Professional Certificate

Students currently making progress in the professional certificate must have the following courses completed by the end of Spring 2019 in order to earn the renewable and Sustainable Energy Professional certificate:

ENVM 5007 (previously ENST 5000)
Energy Systems and Technologies

ENVM 5006 (previously ENST 5001)
Energy Policy in the 21stCentury

ENVM 5005 (previously ENST 5002)
The Business of Sustainable Energy

Spring 2019 class schedules are now posted, and student finishing the professional certificate can now enroll in ENVM 5005 (Section 570). Once a grade of C or better is earned at the end of spring 2019, then the certificate will be awarded. 

If you are enrolled in the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Certificate unable to complete the energy certificate at the end of spring 2019, please email envsmajors@colorado.edu

RSE Graduate Certificate

Students currently making progress in the graduate certificate must have the following courses completed by the end of Spring 2019 in order to earn the renewable and Sustainable Energy Graduate certificate:

Spring 2019 class schedules are now posted, and students who are in the graduate certificate can now enroll in ENVM 5005. The graduate certificate also requires that students complete 9 units of energy elective coursework. These can be completed after spring 2019 as they are not dependent on the certificate to be scheduled — students will have until their graduation date to complete the electives.

RSE Undergraduate Certificate

Students currently making progress in the undergraduate certificate must have the following courses completed by the end of Spring 2019 in order to earn the renewable and Sustainable Energy Graduate certificate:

ENST 4150
Energy Project

Spring 2019 class schedules are now posted, and students who are in the undergraduate certificate can now enroll in ENST 4150 and/or ENVS 3070. The undergraduate certificate also requires that students complete 9 units of energy elective coursework.These can be completed after spring 2019 as they are not dependent on the certificate to be scheduled — students will have until their graduation date to complete the electives.
